Notes of Destiny 27
(The Escape Begins)

After Windy was sent to the brig,
There wasn’t much time for talk.
The guard on that shift was a rough old mate,
Who paced wherever he walked.
But later he was replaced by Socks,
And Lolly filled them all in,
On all the minute details of their plan,
And the strategies that lied within.
Windy took to it straight away,
And didn’t take long to catch up.
Fort said their reunion, proper, would have to wait,
Until their escape time was up.

They waited until the darkness-
Covered their ship at sea,
Then they used Tragic’s magnet,
To remotely snag their cells’ keys.
Lolly unlocked herself from her cage,
Then unlocked Windy’s, Then Fort’s.
They silently crept up to the deck.
And in the distance they saw a port.

Lolly: “Looks like we escaped just in time,
That there’s the Pirates’ Nest.
It’s where they take their slaves and loot,
And all their treasure chests.”

As they moved along the deck,
Lolly began to bristle.
She darted her gaze here and there,
And then gave a very faint whistle.
It sounded like that of a gull,
Or some other type of sea bird.
But there was no reply to her little call,
It seemed it had not been heard.

Lolly: “Something’s not right.
Socks isn’t here.
Something must’ve gone wrong.”

Voice: “OI! WHO GOES THERE?!”

Came a loud voice,
Their cover was now gone.
