NOD28 – Whims of the Sea

Notes of Destiny 28
(Whims of the Sea)

The pirate who heard them wandered around.
He seemed to sniff the breeze.
The three huddled together, still as they could.
Then they heard a sneeze.
They and the pirate jerked their heads,
And stared into the dark.
Socks jumped out of a barrel
And let out a resounding bark.

Socks: “I’m sorry Lolly! They changed shifts!
Go as fast as you can!”

The Pirate charged into the darkness,

Lolly: “He’s nuttier than a pecan!”

While Socks had the man distracted,
More pirates began to wake.
Lolly made a fast break for the boats.

Fort: “Windy! For goodness’ sake!”

Windy ran for the boats too,
and along the way,
Fort and Lolly used the swords,
Socks have given for this day.
Pirates charged, and the three fought hard.
Dodging and repelling blows.
Windy was the first to reach a boat,
As more and more conflict arose.

Windy: “Fort! Lolly! Hurry, now!”

She bellowed up to them,
But Lolly and Fort were pressed to the main mast.
The pirates eyed them like precious gems.
Fort began to go berserk,
Fighting like he wished he would have-
On the night when he was taken from his home.
Though the thought of it made him sad.

Then Lolly, instead of helping him out,
Turned the other way.
She dove for the boat beneath the ship,
And then began to say-

Lolly: “Shove off, let’s go!
We’ve got to move now!”

Windy: “Not without Fort!
No way! No How!”

Lolly: “Fine then!” Lolly yelled in frustration,
Then she pushed Windy with a scoff.

Windy stumbled back and into the ocean.
And Lolly turned and shoved off.
Back on the ship, Socks sprang to Fort’s side,
And the two fought back to back.
The pirates didn’t seem eager to fight.
They were holding back the attack.
But suddenly Socks screamed and grabbed at his temples.
And blood ran out of his nose.
Tragic stood staring, motionless on the deck,
Obviously causing Socks’ woes.

Socks fell down to the ground in an instant,
And slowly his breath left him

Tragic: “Clean up the mess and get the girl back on board!
Leave, Lolly to the sea’s whims!”
