(Hospital Hallways)

Just wasted no time
Once he got the call.
He ran directly into the ER,
And up through the halls.
When within 20 yards of Jessica’s room,
He was stopped by security.
He pushed against them, screaming.
Trying to wrench himself free.

Joshua: “You don’t understand!
I have to see here now!”

Security: “Sir, Stand down!
Or I’ll taze you right now!”

Joshua knew as long as he wrestled them,
There would be no weapons used.
He stared down the hall toward Jessica’s room
As the security guards continued to abuse.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a bed,
Being pushed down another hall.
It was headed for the elevator, and the nurses were frantic.
Nothing would stop him at all.
The bed turned and he saw her face,
As the nurses tried to apply
All of their knowledge to stabilize her,
Joshua began to cry.

But though all this took a scant few seconds,
For Joshua, it was slow-mo.
He stopped for a moment and lifted his voice-
His Bigdog howl was a-go.

Joshua: “Awwwoooooooo!!!”

He shouted and security let up.
He looked toward that hall and sighed.
For just as the sound of his voice hit Jess’s ears,
She looked relieved and revived.
She was asleep, but her heart beating normal.
The panicked nurses halted their tasks.
He ran down the hall to Jessica’s side.

Joshua: “You’re not leaving me. You didn’t ask.”
