Joshua and Isaiah came through the curtain,
To thunderous applause from inside-
The backstage area and locker room.
Everyone was so surprised
At the athletic spectacle they had witnessed
Between these two young men.
Backslaps, handshakes, and high fives,
Proceeded from the wrestlers then.

Joshua: “Has anyone seen Jessica?”

Josh said craning his neck.

Joshua: “Maybe she went to Doc Roberts?
Can somebody go check?”

But the crowd of wrestlers ignored his pleas,
And loudly continued their praise.
Joshua finally pushed past the throng
And began to go into a haze.

Something inside his head,
Began to throb with pain.
Panic seeped up into his throat,
And made him feel insane.
He began to run down the halls,
Looking every direction.
Then he began yelling for Jessica
With worry in his inflection.

“Jessica!” He yelled again and again,
With the fury of a madman.
“Jessica!” He called once again,
And then he called out: “Ann!”

Just as he did, he bumped into
The WWL Champion.
Warren Nickolson looked him up and down.

Warren: “You had a great match, man.
You sure you’re okay? Just take a minute.
Sit down and relax for a sec.
I think I saw Jessica enter the women’s locker room.
Relax and stretch your neck.”

Joshua sat down and followed his suggestion,
Craning from side to side.

Joshua: “Thanks man, I don’t know what happened.
I just got scared inside.”

Warren: “Sometimes that happens after a match,
Adrenaline’s still kicking in.
Hang in there and keep putting on matches like that,
You might face me and win.”

Warren patted him on the shoulder,
And then began to walk out.
Then Joshua heard Jessica’s voice raised,
And he ran to find out
What was the reason she was yelling.
His anxiety amped up again.
He turned a corner to see Jessica,
And his brain snapped to action then.
