(Planning a Counter-Attack)

Russpine demonstrated the fingerings,
For Saol Nua’s song.
Windy had played Whistleknife before.
But not for very long.

Russpine: “The melody alone should suffice,
Should I be made to stop singing.”

Fort returned just then in a huff,
His ears still a-buzz with the ringing-
Of the pirates he heard planning,
Their vile, evil, plots.
Fort took a drink of water,
Then began to spill a lot.

Fort: “The pirates are planning a wildfire
On Saol Nua Day.
We have to be ready to stop it!”

Russpine: “… I’m not sure of a way.
How are we to compete with a wild fire?”

Fort: “I might have a plan.
But I need to know more about this forest.
It’s history, and it’s span.”
