NOD19 – Gifts and Farewells

Notes of Destiny 19
(Gifts and Farewells)

So the day of Saol Nua
Was drawing near to a end.
Seeing the sunset, and spirits leaving in boats,
Made dreams and realities blend.

Off many went, to find their new homes,
Born with the knowledge of where.
Windy couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous,
But all she could do was stare,
At the wonder and amazement
Of these newborn lives.
And then the new Fairy Queen approached them.
And Russpine puffed with pride.

Russpine performed a complicated bow,
Then said to her:

Russpine: “Your Highness,”

Fairy Queen: “Rise, noble Russpine!”
Said the Fairy Queen,
And Russ did with a hint of shyness.

The Fairy Queen was beautiful,
Her paleness was like no other.
The smoothness of her snow white skin,
Reminded Fort of his mother.
She motioned to the three heroes,
Who had brought them all to term,

Fairy Queen: “You all have done exceedingly well,
And you will not be spurned.
The Great Songwriter has given me knowledge,
Of your missions and your paths.
There will be many a heartbreak,
But strength you will not lack.
For the lady, keep your Whistleknife,
You may need it yet.
For the lad, you receive this Mandolell,
From my royal treasure set.”

Two elves brought forth an instrument,
Of beautiful wooden splendor.
Carved with hundreds of little figures,
And what a sound it rendered!
Fort plucked a simple chord,
And flowers began to bloom.

Fairy Queen: “It is my prayer, that Mandolell,
Will help save you all from doom.
As for you both, you now have a ship waiting,
For you in my harbor.
It will bear you both to Ka’Lanner.
But things will only get harder.
I wish you both Songwriter’s grace,
As you travel cross the sea.
We will sing of your kindness and faith,
Fortinato and Windy.”

A cheer went up from the crowd.
And Russpine hugged them tight.
They bid him farewell and a song went up,
And the song gave light.
In the almost set sun, they were illuminated,
As they walked to the sea,
And they got in their Giant Mora-leaf boat,
With nothing but utter glee.
They waved farewell to their newborn friends,
And Russpine their faithful ally,
The only thing in front of their eyes now,
Was the open night sky.
