This roller will pull all cards from the selected columns and all cubes of the selected types each time it is rolled.
These settings will apply to every item pulled from the dynamic sources.
The heart of the Roller system is the Current Variable Number (CVN). This number represents the "weight" or probability of an item being selected when you roll. You can edit it directly to influence the outcome. The entire system is designed to automatically adjust this number based on rules you set.
1. For each item, its probability is calculated as CVN + Static.
2. A "pool" is created where each item is added a number of times equal to its calculated probability. (e.g., an item with a probability of 10 is added 10 times).
3. A single winner is randomly chosen from this pool.
1. The system first checks if the winning item's CVN has reached its Revert At value. If it has, the CVN is reset to its Initial value.
2. If it has *not* reached the revert value, the Step logic is applied to update the CVN for the next roll.
Imagine an item with these settings:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Initial | 10 |
| Revert At | 50 |
| Step | 5, +, Fixed |
| Static | 0 |
- 1st Roll (Win): The item wins. Its CVN is 10, which is less than 50, so it doesn't revert. The step is applied: 10 + 5 = 15. The new CVN is 15.
- 2nd Roll (Win): The item wins again. Its CVN is 15. It doesn't revert. The step is applied: 15 + 5 = 20. The new CVN is 20.
- ... Many Rolls Later ... The CVN is now 50.
- Next Roll (Win): The item wins. Its CVN is 50, which is equal to the 'Revert At' value. The CVN is reset to the 'Initial' value. The new CVN is 10.
To prevent impossible logic, the system requires:
Initial value must be less than the Revert At value.Initial value must be greater than the Revert At value.A Card is the most basic item on your board. Think of it like a sticky note or an index card. It's perfect for representing a single task, a scene in your story, a quick idea, or a to-do item that needs to get done.
Duplicate Card: Creates an exact copy of the current card in the same column.Convert to Cube: "Promotes" this card into a full Cube, moving all its content into a new entry in the Cube Writer. The original card is deleted. This is the primary way to expand a simple idea into a detailed wiki-like entry.Copy to Project: If you have a local directory loaded, you can copy this card to another project.A Cube is a container for detailed information, like a personal wiki page for your project. The most powerful feature of Cubes is that they can be nested inside each other, allowing you to create a structured hierarchy of information.
For example, you could have a "World" Cube that contains "Continent" Cubes. Each "Continent" Cube could contain "Country" Cubes, which in turn contain "City" Cubes. This helps you organize complex information in an intuitive way.
➔ button on a Cube to "enter" it and see the Cubes it contains.← button in the controls to go up one level in the hierarchy.Duplicate Cube: Creates an exact copy of the current Cube, including all its nested content, at the same level.Convert to Card: "Demotes" this Cube into a simple Card on the main board, placing it in an "Imports" column. This is useful if a detailed entry is no longer needed and you just want a quick reference on the board.Copy to Project: If you have a local directory loaded, you can copy this Cube (and all its nested content) to another project.A Checklist Template is a reusable master list that you can create once and use anywhere in your project. This is perfect for standard procedures or recurring tasks, such as "New Character Setup," "Episode Pre-Production," or "Location Scouting Steps."
Save as Template button in that checklist's header.A Text Template is a reusable block of text that you can quickly load into the "Content" section of any Card or Cube. This is extremely useful for maintaining a consistent structure for things like character sheets, location descriptions, or meeting notes.
